Well Tuseday at 1400 we take the NREMT-B written test, have a "snack" and then take the 5 practicals. Ging to be a long long day but hopefully it will all e worth it.

Anybody that fails the practical if it's something "minor" can retest at the end of the night. But if they fail big time will have to reschedual at a latter date.

Then either Wenesday or Thursday at the latest will get a phone call saying if we passed/failed the NREMT written test. We are one of the few states hooked into NREMT system to get the results back normally within 24 hours of filling :D :kool:

Thanks:kool: :kool:

Going boonkers today as everybody I know who's a EMT & everything I've read says to not study the day before the test and to just kick back & take a break. Think that's what's stressing me out as I've always done the studying thing up to the last min. Not to mention yesterday we got a NREMT practice test and while I have been kicking butt in the AAOS review test book the NREMT practice test almost failed me. Sure hope the real thing is easyer than the practice test:(

Also want to go over the practicals but have managed to not look at them yet:p

Anybody got a beer:o

good luck
I passed the practicals on January 8th. Was scheduled to take the written on the 16th. Due to bad weather the state testers rescheduled the test for the 28th. As far as being nervous just remember your practice sessions and you will do fine.

never heard of any benifit from blowing off studying the day before - that's a new one.

test taking tips 101:
a really good nights sleep the night before will serve you better than staying up all night and cramming. Get AT LEAST 8 hours!

study up to when you actually fall asleep the night before - take books/notes to bed. You will dream test material. Spend the 6-8 hours before going to bed studying so your brain is full of stuff to store.

eat a really good breakfast or prepratory meal, but wait. When you get a lot of food in your stomach, the blood goes there to pick up the nutriants and turns your brain into slush, temporairly. Best to wait 1.5-2 hrs till you're over the digestion bump and cruising on pure octane!

cramming for the 2 hours befor the exam REALLY HELPS! - prepaire crib sheets (that, alone, will help cement info in your brain), but study and review to the moment you walk in and start taking the test. Short term memory/recall is better than long tem memory, so anything you cna cram in, in the few hours before an exam is good. But likewise, as to really knowing material, periodic review will set a larger body of knowledge into your brain permently. We're talking about the difference between an artificial grade and your long term effectiveness. You need both, but right now, go for short term tricks.

good luck!,

The human mind actually needs REM sleep in order to "set" new information into long-term memory, so staying up all night cramming doesn't work well. Study the evening before, then sleep well. Now, if I could just follow my own advice. :(

Did the practicals without any major problems or hitting a critical item. Think out of the class of 14 (we started out with 20) only 4 or 5 of us did that. So that phase is done!!!! Hell that's the one I was seriously worried about and really busted it out so at least I'm good on the road if I don't know the book crap :o :o

Now for the written that's another story (ACK) Don't really know how I did as it was a real ballbuster of a test. Everybody came out of the test shaking thier heads & wondering if they passed. Hell I put in 3-4 hours a day if not more for the last 2 weeks studying the book (AAOS) & other study material and still don't know if I passed or not.

We shall see if I get the good or bad phone call Wenesday:eek:
