Check this link out - www.tarascon.com (http://www.tarascon.com) and/or get yourself a copy of the Tarascon Pocket Pharmacopoeia It's pretty much the definative book I and tons of other care providers use when contemplating antibiotic regimes.
I've seen some talk about new uses for vet drugs and other ideas, some valid and some scary. So - If you are hell bent on medicating yourselves, educate yourself 1st - don't go guessing on yourselves and others. Knowledge is a good thing, but limited knowledge can be dangerous thing also.
