A new iPhone application, developed by our friends at HealthMap.org, is now available free of charge. The new application is named "Outbreaks Near Me" and utilizes GPS technology to show ProMED-mail reports as well as other health alerts and ongoing outbreak news in the vicinity of the user. The application also allows users to submit disease reports, and to search for outbreaks in specific locations worldwide. These reports are screened and will be used to alert ProMED moderators about new disease events.
