Here's one the lay people ought to be able to get. The patient is complaining of a sharp stabbing pain in the foot. Can anyone identify the cause?

My initial medical diagnosis is that the pt is probably a construction worker who has managed to step on a sharp piece of steel wire. Of course, we don't have the pt here, or a chance to interview. How in gracious did it get that far in without the pt bending over and pulling it out?
My secondary diagnosis is that a contactor on the fan limit switch isn't making, and the unit is going into high limit. But, then, I do a bit of heating and AC on the side.
I think someone needs to get out a procedure kit, foreceps or needle clamp, and maybe some triple antibiotic. Also a bag of lemon drops is indicated PRN for distraction.
Hope it's not loaded with tetanus?
