Medications:

1. Ibuprofen 800 mg tablets – pain, anti-inflammatory, platelet inhibition, etc.

2. Ciprofloxacin or levofloxacin, or moxifloxacin – broadest spectrum oral antibiotic with pseudomonas coverage.

3. Metronidazole – anerobic and special coverage.

4. Lidocaine - 1% solution. Ideally dozens of 50 ml bottles. Local anesthesia, makes for more compliant and happier patients. In a severe pinch you could perform an amputation of a limb using a ring block, if the only other choice was to give them a soft lead bullet or leather strap to bite on.

5. Lidocaine w/Epinephrine - dental procedures. Given that we are planning ahead here I'd add this to the medication stores rather than use Lido w/o Epi. Also keeps those scalp wounds from bleeding into your work area.

6. Derma 4 - a nice combination topical cream that contains antibiotic (Gentamycin), an antifungal and a steroid. Good for those tropical itches.

7. Steroids - injectable, topical, and/or oral; nearly limitless indications

8. Epinephrine - multi-dose vial, or for the less medically trained, epi-pen; rarely used but life-saving when you need it

9. Albuterol Inhaler - for asthmatics, allegic reactions, and viral respiratory infections

Your list of remote meds are right on target. Now, if you have a bit more space in your bag, please consider:

Cough and cold pills such as pseudoephedrine, or chlorpheniramine Maleate.

Allergy capsules such as Allegra, or Claritin.

Antidiarrheals (infant and youth diarrhea is one of the major killers in partsof the world). And ORT Oral Rehydration Therapy salts for the same parts of the world. "The lower GI you save might be your own".

Latex gloves. OK, it isn't a medication, but the thought is there. If you're going to be there for a while, consider autoclavable stainless steel gauntlets.

Injectable benadryl...

Antihistamine, antiemetic, sedative, etc...

Injectable Toradol

Pain and inflammation control...without many of the opiate side effects. Same would make Tramadol a nice thing to have

Cephalsporin antibiotics...particularly oral Keflex and 1g vials of Rocephin.
Good soft tissue coverage
